MCMS Athletic Competitions kicked off today with Cross Country at the New Haven Invitational. We sent seven athletes to run today and they all ran excellent times for their first ever MS cross country race, and on a long, hilly course at that. Way to go, Wildcats!

Wildcat Families, The first week was a pretty big success and we are extremely grateful to be able to be a part of your child's educational journey. After the first week, though, it is perhaps necessary to make families aware of our dropoff and pickup expectations. Our ultimate goal is to keep all our kids safe, and traffic flowing so there is not a long line for you to sit through. Beginning Tuesday, if you are dropping a student off, please be sure you are aware that our doors do not open until 7:30. There is not a staff member on duty to keep your child safe, so please do not drop them off prior to that time. If you choose to arrive before 7:30, please do not stop in the driving lane of our parking lot blocking traffic. Please pull into a parking spot so through traffic can still reach their destination. The dropoff point is in the parking lot in front of the gym. Please see the attached image. For pickup, please note, we do not have a passing lane. Please do not use the South-bound lane as a lane to pass the line of vehicles waiting to pickup their student. Our students are precious and should be able to cross the parking lot safely. The easiest way I have found to navigate pickup is to back into a parking space in front of the middle school so I can easily maneuver once my child is in the car. Please note, if you are pulling up to pickup your child, you must come to the front of the middle school main entrance near the old flag pole (please see the attached image). Having you pull up to our line of sight is the best way to help us keep all our students safe. We are incredibly thankful for your help in this! Thank you, Mrs. River Principal

Good evening, Wildcat families! I wanted to take a few moments to remind you of the upcoming Open Houses this week. SIXTH GRADE FAMILIES, please join us for your Open House on Wednesday, August 14 at 6:00. We will meet first in the Cafeteria as the new gym floor is not quite ready for traffic. After a brief introduction, those who have registered will receive their schedules and will be able to meet their new teachers and access their lockers. SEVENTH and EIGHTH GRADE FAMILIES, Open House is on Thursday, August 15 from 6:00 to 7:30. Yours will be true Open House style, come visit drop off supplies, and meet your teachers! ALL FAMILIES, remember there is a technology fee that must be paid before your child can access a Chromebook. Waiting to pay this fee is one of the longest lines we have each year. Save time by paying this fee in advance on our Webstore (mc-wildcats.revtrak.net). If you need to pay the night of Open House, speed the process along by either paying with check or having exact cash. Technology fees are: $25 for one student; $45 for two students; and $60 for three or more students. You may also wish to put money in your child’s lunch account. The easiest way to do this is via your parent portal on Infinite Campus. This is the website you accessed to register your student for the 2024-2025 school year. You may also download the Infinite Campus app, which is a handy way to keep track of your student’s grades and assignments, add lunch money, and contact teachers via the message service. If you have your immunization records, the nurse will need a copy. You can bring it with you to Open House. Please remember, if you have not registered your student, they cannot start school on the first day. If you are registering your student with us during our Open House, you will need an accepted form of proof of residency. This could be a utility bill, pay stub, rental agreement, or mortgage. It must be dated within the last thirty days. If you have any questions, please call the Office at 573.564.2253. We look forward to having you in the building this week! Thank you, Kista River Principal Montgomery County Middle School

For all the parents who received an email for the incorrect mailing list yesterday, please accept my humble apologies. You did not register your child incorrectly. I simply misunderstood the timeline of when mailing lists would be updated. For general purposes, incoming 6th graders, we would love to have you at our Open House on August 14, from 6:00-7:30 PM. Please meet in the gym and we will direct you from there. 7th and 8th Grade families, we would love to have you join us for your Open House on August 15 at 6:00-7:30. If you have completed registration you can get your schedule, meet your teachers, find your locker and drop off your supplies. If you have not yet registered and need assistance doing so, please call the office as soon as possible at 573-564-2253 and we can get you pointed in the right direction!

MCMS will not be hosting a formal summer reading project this year. However, I still encourage students to continue to read self-selected books of their choosing over the summer months. Follow the link below to find a list of book ideas and resources for you to use to support your child’s reading efforts. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1jsGUGskGdfPgVGcI7jRWwn3n2NDSfNftU7pn2hu4_Ls/edit?usp=sharing

Good evening, Wildcat families! As summer winds to an end, I wanted to re-share with everyone the information we posted last week about in-person registration coming up this week. If you have not been able to complete your registration online, We will have an in-person registration on August 6 from noon to 8:00PM. Please plan to attend so we can get you registered before Open Houses. Included in this information is access to the Infinite Campus app, which is the easiest way to check your student's grades and add money to their account. In addition there is access to our Webstore, which will allow you to pay Chromebook/Technology Fees and any dues for any clubs your child would like to participate in online and in advance of our Open Houses. Finally, I'm including school supply lists we shared a few weeks ago, just in case you needed them again. We look forward to seeing each of you soon! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call us at 573.564.2253. Thank you, Mrs. River Principal
